Portrait of Ros Lovell a counsellor in bath

I’m Ros Lovell, a therapist & counsellor based in Bath

I practice in the beautiful city of Bath, offering a calm and supportive setting where you can feel safe to talk openly and explore what’s going on for you.

Working together

What matters most to me is creating an atmosphere of warmth, trust and confidentiality. I believe that therapy is most effective when you feel heard and understood, so I work in a collaborative way that adapts to your needs.

In my work with clients I draw on different therapeutic approaches while always keeping you at the centre of the process.

Some people value a more reflective process to make sense of their feelings; others may prefer to focus on practical strategies. We can explore what feels most helpful for you as we go along.

Above all, this is your space, one where you can take things at your own pace, knowing you’ll be met with understanding and respect.

Training, experience and life

My journey to become a counsellor was shaped by conversations with my mother-in-law, herself a counsellor for many years. From her I learnt the lasting impact of being truly heard and held and how powerful it can be to have the space to do so.

Having completed an Advanced Diploma in Counselling Psychology in Singapore, I continued my training in Bristol with a Professional Diploma in Counselling Psychotherapy, with additional training in both bereavement and addiction.

This professional grounding has given me the tools to support clients experiencing a wide range of challenges, always with a focus on empathy and respect.

Alongside my training and professional background, I bring the perspective of life outside the therapy room as a wife and mother. Also as someone trusted to listen to and support colleagues during my years in the business world, both working for companies and running my own business. This has deepened my understanding of the challenges people face and the importance of being heard. My work is grounded in professional standards but equally in the genuine belief that counselling can help people reconnect with their own strengths and move towards a greater sense of wellbeing.

My training and life experience have taught me that no two journeys are the same which is why I always meet every client as an individual.
